BENEFITS

Training and development can lead to numerous benefits including:

  • Creating a competitive advantage
  • Keeping pace with change
  • Improving skills and efficiency
  • Improving communication skills
  • Developing of a more effective, productive workforce
  • Understanding of personal strengths and areas for improvement

WHO CAN APPLY?

Businesses, public sector and charitable organisations between 5 to 249 employees are eligible to apply*. Funding is made available for the development of a senior manager or key decision maker.

HOW MUCH FUNDING IS AVAILABLE?

One grant is available per organisation of up to a maximum of £1,000. Once qualified for the funding, £500 will be allocated automatically. The remaining £500 will be allocated on a match making basis (e.g. for £200 invested by SMEs, the government will match it with £200 allocation). So you could have £1500.00 worth of training for just a £500.00 contribution.

WHAT LEARNING IS ELIGIBLE?

For each organisation taking part, one senior manager will benefit from undertaking a personal diagnostic and co-creating their own unique Personal Development Plan (PDP), working with an Adviser. Any learning or development that is to be supported by the grant must be identified in the individual’s PDP.

NEXT STEPS

Once a person’s individual development needs have been identified, the adviser will work closely with the organisation to help identify the most appropriate solution. However, the choice of training provider rests entirely with the organisation.
